Information

A total of 50 maize starch granules were recovered from three ceramic sherds and their associated sediment samples: FS1056, ceramic sample 12 (n=6) and sediment sample 148 (n=3); FS1063, ceramic sample 10 (n=9) and sediment sample 156 (n=2); FS1050, ceramic ample 9 (n=25) and sediment sample 108 (n=5). The radiocarbon date for all of these samples comes from associated charcoal recovered from the same stratigraphic layer and depositional context as the ceramic/sediment samples (Zarrillo et al. 2008:5007-8).
