Maize starch grains recovered from a wild omnivore coprolite, possibly a fox (CVR003), found in Operation VI Unit 14 Layer 7 D, a shallow intrusion into the sterile basal layer of the low status residence at this location (Haas et al. 2013: Tables S1 and S4). It was indirectly dated in association with two radiocarbon samples from annual plant fibres recovered from the same excavation unit. The two samples are AA-84570 and AA-84581--but since AA-84581 is the older of the two, we will use it as the oldest likely age of the deposit in which the coprolite sample was found.
